The New York State Senate recently passed several bills, with Senator Gallivan casting votes on each. The senator supported various legislative measures, including S737, which directs the Department of State to develop safety protocols for fire hazard prevention related to lithium-ion batteries and micromobility devices. He also voted in favor of S738, requiring retailers to provide operating manuals for such devices.

Senator Gallivan backed S740, which mandates retail employers to implement workplace violence prevention programs and provide training. Additionally, he supported S746, directing resources for safe firearm storage information at the time of firearm license issuance.

Other bills receiving his approval included those addressing health coverage and safety: S756 requires insurers to cover dyslexia testing; S774 provides insurance coverage for scalp cooling systems during chemotherapy; and S768 ensures breast cancer screenings are available to incarcerated individuals.

However, Senator Gallivan opposed several proposals. He voted against S743 and S744 concerning firearms dealer regulations and warnings. He also rejected S752's absentee ballot drop-off locations due to concerns about ballot integrity.

Furthermore, he disapproved of amendments like S228 regarding rent increase justifications by manufactured home park owners and S812 relating to banking development district participation assessments.

Overall, Senator Gallivan's voting record reflects a mix of support for public safety initiatives and opposition to certain regulatory changes within this legislative session.
