Senator Patrick M. Gallivan has announced the inclusion of three local projects within the 60th New York State Senate District in the latest round of grants from the state's Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) Initiative. The funding is aimed at supporting housing and community projects in the Town of Evans and Village of Angola.

"These local projects align with the state’s overall economic development goals and will enhance the quality of life for residents," Senator Gallivan stated. "Investing in housing, small businesses, and recreational assets will also create new opportunities in these communities."

The funded projects include $300,000 allocated to the Village of Angola for renovating commercial and residential units in its downtown business district. This initiative aims to support small businesses and building owners by improving their environment.

Additionally, $111,000 has been designated for installing a fitness court at Herman Park in Angola. The facility will be free to use and fully accessible, enhancing recreational opportunities at the village's primary park.

The Town of Evans will receive $50,000 to implement a Waterfront Tourism Marketing Campaign promoting its Lake Erie shoreline as a year-round destination. This effort is expected to boost branding, attract visitors, and stimulate local economic growth along with infrastructure improvements.

These local initiatives are part of a broader allocation totaling $123 million from REDC funding. The REDC process empowers regional stakeholders by developing strategic plans that address local economic needs while providing streamlined access to grant funds and tax credits from numerous existing programs.
