Senator Patrick M. Gallivan, representing Elma, and his colleagues from the New York State Senate Minority Conference have introduced a legislative agenda titled "Liberate New York" for 2025. This agenda aims to address issues affecting the quality of life in New York.

The Senate Minority Conference argues that recent policies enacted by the Legislature Majority have negatively impacted residents, leading to increased outmigration since 2020. The new plan focuses on making New York more affordable and safer.

Senator Gallivan stated, “Rising costs due to inflation, higher taxes and fees, and expensive state mandates are hurting hard-working families and making it more challenging for businesses to stay in New York.” He emphasized the need for better control over government size and cost to promote economic opportunities and reduce financial burdens on residents.

The "Liberate New York" agenda includes initiatives such as cutting taxes for residents and small businesses, reversing certain criminal justice policies, and lowering housing costs. Gallivan highlighted the importance of public safety by stating, “We must ensure the safety of all residents by reversing misguided reforms that embolden criminals at the expense of law-abiding individuals and communities.”

Additionally, Gallivan mentioned developing a sustainable clean energy plan that balances environmental protection with taxpayer interests. More details about this legislative agenda will be revealed in the coming weeks.
