The need for blood in the community remains constant, particularly during the summer months when donations typically decline. Hospitals across the region rely on blood donations to treat patients of all ages, from premature infants to older adults.
"You may have heard in the news recently that there is an urgent need for blood across Western New York," stated Senator Gallivan. "Donating truly does save lives and I encourage everyone who is able, to do so."
To donate, individuals must be at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 lbs., possess a photo ID, and feel healthy and well. Donations can be made through ConnectLife by calling 716-529-4270 or through the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767.
