Senator Patrick M. Gallivan, representing Elma as a Republican, Conservative, and Independence party member, has been appointed to six committees in the New York State Senate for the legislative session that commenced on January 8, 2025.

Gallivan will continue his role as the Ranking Member of the Senate Standing Committee on Health and also serve as the Ranking Member of the Joint Task Force on Opioids, Addiction and Overdose Prevention. "I look forward to returning in a leadership role on the Senate Health Committee, which faces another busy agenda as one of the most active committees in the Legislature,” Senator Gallivan stated. “The work of the Joint Task Force on Opioids, Addiction and Overdose Prevention is also critical as the state continues to confront the challenges associated with drug use."

Additionally, Senator Gallivan will remain a member of several other Senate Standing Committees including Finance; Transportation; Codes; and Rules. His position as Senate Minority Whip within the Senate Minority Conference will also continue.

Previously, Gallivan held roles such as Chair of various committees including Crime Victims, Crime and Correction; Social Services; and Commerce, Economic Development, and Small Business. He was also Vice Chair of the Senate Education Committee.
