Women's Lacrosse Dominates Keuka To Win Home Opener

The Buffalo State women's lacrosse team dominated their home opener against Keuka College with a 18-7 victory at Coyer Field this afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Buffalo State – 18, Keuka College – 7
LOCATION: Coyer Field – Buffalo, NY
RECORDS: Buffalo State: 2-1 (0-0 SUNYAC), Keuka College: 0-3 (0-0 Empire 8)  

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE

  • Emilee Josker (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) led the Bengals with five goals in the win.
  • Sarah Fineour (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East) and Kacey Stack (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) each scored three goals of their own.
  • Five other Bengals each registered at least one goal including Anany Marcano (New York, NY/Westminster School (CT)) who scored her first collegiate goal.
  • Sage Running Rabbit (Siksika, AB/Strathmore) tallied six assists.
  • Beth Kulikowski (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) and Moira Penot (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby) combined for seven saves in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Buffalo State offense got off to a hot a start as they scored five goals within the first seven minutes of the contest.
  • Keuka responded with three unanswered goals to close out the first.
  • To close out the half, the Bengals offense ran wild and scored six unanswered anchored by a goal from Josker.
  • Keuka would add another goal to close out the half.
  • To start the second half, the Bengals would outscore the Wolves by a 3-2 margin.
  • Buffalo State would increase the lead to 10 and run out the clock to secure the win.
FOR THE FOES

  • Julia Bauder and Tori Nelson each netted two goals for the Wolves.
  • Alyssa Chase made 12 saves in the effort.
UP NEXT

The Bengals will return home on Saturday as they host Lycoming College at 1:00 pm.
