Share Your COVID-19 Experiences
We are living in a historic moment in time! The COVID-19 crisis is reshaping our daily lives and our community. In the future, others will look back and learn from our experiences. That is why it is so important to begin recording the history of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on Aldenites. What is happening right now must not be forgotten! We need to document our experiences so they can inform the response to future crises.
Our Village Historian, Karen Muchow, would like to record your witness-to-history experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. How are you feeling? What are you seeing and hearing around you? What effect is this having on you, your family, your neighbors, and your community? Do you have children who need to do school work from home? How are you dealing with that? Are you working from home? Are you a business owner who has had to close or an employee who has been laid off? If your business/employer is still open, how have you had to adjust how you and/or your business operate? If you are still working, what precautions are being taken? What is the worst thing about this? Are there any “silver linings” in what has happened? Is there anything else you would like to add?
Please send your responses to Karen, at aldenhistorian1@gmail.com. Photos are also welcome—maybe you have participated in the “Bear Hunt”, the Friday Night Lights, the rainbows, etc. (please note name & location). Art work is also welcome and may be mailed to the Alden Historical Society, 13213 Broadway, Attention Karen Muchow.
With your permission, she will preserve these responses in our archive where they will be shared with researchers and the public now and in the future. Thank you for participating!
