Senator Gallivan used his Twitter account in early December 2025 to highlight several community initiatives and legislative priorities in Western New York.

On December 2, 2025, Gallivan marked a national day dedicated to charitable giving by encouraging support for local non-profit organizations. He stated, “On this Giving Tuesday we celebrate the sense of charity, kindness and caring that makes WNY special. Support our community by giving to non-profit organizations that help others.”

The following day, Gallivan shared details of a meeting with library advocates at a local branch. In his December 3 post he wrote, “Great to meet with representatives of the WNY Library Resource Council at the Lakeshore Library. We discussed legislative & funding priorities for 2026. Libraries serve residents of all ages throughout the community.”

Later on December 3, Gallivan addressed issues related to disability awareness and rights in New York State. He posted, “More than 1 in 4 adults live with a disability. I was proud to sponsor legislation in 2012 designating 12/3 as International Day of Persons with Disabilities in NY. We celebrate the contributions that people with disabilities make in our community & advocate for their rights &”.

Gallivan represents Western New York as a state senator and has previously been involved in legislative efforts supporting both public libraries and disability advocacy within the state legislature.
