The Buffalo Sabres have added goaltender Alexandar Georgiev to their roster, signing him to a one-year contract valued at $825,000. The team announced the agreement on Thursday.

Georgiev, 29, played last season with both the Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks. He appeared in 49 games across the two teams and recorded an .875 save percentage.

Over his eight-season NHL career, Georgiev has participated in 303 games with the New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche, and San Jose Sharks. He led the league in wins during both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons while playing for Colorado and was named to the All-Star Game in 2024.

He is the second goaltender signed by Buffalo this offseason. In July, the Sabres brought in Alex Lyon on a two-year deal. The team’s depth chart now includes Georgiev and Lyon along with returning goalies Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Devon Levi, as well as recently signed prospects Scott Ratzlaff and Topias Leinonen.
