The National Hockey League has released the full schedule for the Buffalo Sabres’ 2025-26 regular season. The team will open its campaign at home against the New York Rangers on October 9, aiming to build on last season’s record of two wins and one loss against the Rangers.

Ticketing details, including 10-Game Flex Plans, single-game tickets, and theme nights, will be announced later. Fans interested in early access to single-game ticket presales can fill out a form to participate before tickets go on sale to the general public. Those seeking a 10-game flex plan are encouraged to place a deposit now to secure their spot.

The Sabres’ schedule includes notable matchups such as two home games against the back-to-back Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers—on October 18 and January 12. Buffalo will also play a home-and-home series with the Toronto Maple Leafs on October 24 and 25, with additional meetings scheduled for January 27 in Toronto and March 14 in Buffalo.

The Washington Capitals will visit Buffalo twice this season, marking their first games in town since Alex Ovechkin became the NHL’s all-time goals leader. Ovechkin starts this season with 897 career goals.

Other highlights include a November 17 matchup against the Edmonton Oilers, who have reached consecutive Western Conference finals. The Sabres have won four of their last six one-goal games against Edmonton at KeyBank Center.

Buffalo will continue its tradition of hosting a Black Friday game following Thanksgiving, facing off against the New Jersey Devils on November 28. The Sabres have won their last three Black Friday home games against New Jersey.

A six-game road trip from December 3 to December 14 will take the team across four time zones and two countries—their longest such stretch since January 2012.

The NHL will pause from February 6 through February 22 for players to participate in the Milano-Cortina Olympic Winter Games, marking the league’s first Olympic break since 2014. Rasmus Dahlin has already been named to Sweden’s roster; other Sabres players may also compete for their national teams during this period.

After returning from the Olympic break, Buffalo begins another road trip starting February 25 in Newark. In March, they embark on a four-game Pacific swing through Las Vegas and California teams.

The regular season concludes at home against Dallas on April 15 for the second consecutive year.

According to NHL scheduling information (source), full schedules are typically released mid-summer ahead of each new season.
