The Buffalo Sabres lost 6-2 to the Calgary Flames at KeyBank Center on Wednesday. Tage Thompson scored for the fourth consecutive game, but it was not enough to secure a win for Buffalo.

The Sabres overcame an early 2-0 deficit with second-period goals from Mattias Samuelsson and Thompson. However, Calgary regained control in the third period when Morgan Frost scored just over two minutes in. The Flames added three more unanswered goals to seal their victory.

Joel Farabee led Calgary with two goals, while several teammates contributed multiple points: Frost had a goal and an assist, Matt Coronato recorded a goal and an assist, Rasmus Andersson tallied a goal and three assists, Yegor Sharangovich registered two assists, and Nazem Kadri also provided two assists. Goaltender Devin Cooley made 28 saves for the Flames.

Colten Ellis started in net for Buffalo for the third straight game, stopping 29 of 35 shots.

Buffalo entered the matchup having won its previous two games. The team has two more games remaining on its current four-game homestand. The next contest is scheduled for Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks at KeyBank Center. Coverage will begin at 6:30 p.m., with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
