The Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills announced on Apr. 1 that the Give 716 fundraising event will return for its sixth year, aiming to support charities in Western New York. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:16 p.m. on July 15 and will run until just before midnight on July 16.
Give 716 has become an important initiative for the local community, bringing together fans of both teams as well as individuals, groups, and businesses to support nonprofit organizations across eight counties in Western New York.
“We’re proud to bring Give 716 back for the sixth year,” said Michelle Roberts of the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Rich Jureller of the Buffalo Sabres Foundation. “Year after year, this initiative has celebrated the generosity and spirit of our community, and we’re excited to continue partnering with the many charities that help make Buffalo such a special place to live.”
Last year’s campaign raised over $1.4 million, contributing to a total of more than $5.8 million collected since Give 716 began five years ago. Organizers said registration is now open for local charities wishing to participate in this year’s effort.
This year’s event will feature a redesigned website intended to provide an improved experience for both donors and participating organizations. The updated platform aims to better support small nonprofits alongside larger groups by offering enhanced features tailored toward effective fundraising efforts.
Give 716 encourages all nonprofits headquartered or providing services in Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties to register at Give716.org.
