The Buffalo Bills are preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft, and mock drafts tracked through April 22 show a clear pattern in player and position projections for the team’s first-round selection at No. 26.

The analysis of over 100 mock drafts since January reveals that certain players and positions have consistently been linked to the Bills by NFL analysts. This information is important as it offers insight into both external expectations and potential team needs ahead of draft day.

Wide receiver Denzel Boston from Washington was most frequently projected to join the Bills, appearing in 12 different mocks. Linebacker CJ Allen from Georgia and edge rusher Cashius Howell from Texas A&M were each selected in ten mocks, while wide receiver KC Concepcion from Texas A&M appeared nine times. By month, EDGE Cashius Howell (Texas A&M) led April with six selections, followed closely by EDGE Malachi Lawrence (UCF) with five. In March, Denzel Boston was mocked five times; CJ Allen and Cashius Howell each appeared four times in projections during that period.

Position group trends indicate that wide receivers were favored slightly more than edge rushers among first-round projections for Buffalo—wide receivers accounted for 31 percent of all mocks (34 instances), while edge rushers made up 30 percent (33 instances). Linebackers followed at a distant third with fourteen percent (15 instances). The preference shifted monthly: edge rusher was the leading projection in April, wide receiver dominated March and February, while linebacker was most common in January.

These patterns provide a snapshot of analyst expectations heading into the draft but do not guarantee any particular selection by the Bills’ front office. As draft day approaches, attention will remain on whether these widely discussed prospects or positions align with the team’s ultimate choice.
