Catholic Health reaches tentative labor deal with CWA covering over 2,800 workers

Catholic Health and the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Locals 1133 and 1168 have reached a tentative agreement on six contracts. The proposed agreements affect more than 2,800 employees at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, and Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus. CWA plans to organize a ratification vote in the coming weeks.

Joyce Markiewicz, President & CEO of Catholic Health, stated: “I want to extend my sincere thanks to the bargaining teams for coming together and reaching this agreement. This is great news for our patients, associates, and the communities across Western New York that rely on Catholic Health for their care.”

The tentative agreement follows negotiations between Catholic Health and union representatives.
