The Buffalo Sabres have signed goaltender Devon Levi to a two-year contract. The deal, announced Thursday, carries an average annual value of $812,500.
Levi, 23, has played the last two seasons with the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League (AHL). Over 68 regular season games, he has recorded 41 wins, a 2.28 goals-against average (GAA), and a .922 save percentage. In the 2024-25 season, his 2.20 GAA and .919 save percentage ranked sixth among AHL goaltenders. During Calder Cup Playoff appearances, Levi has posted seven wins in 13 games with a 2.54 GAA and .916 save percentage.
Levi stands at six feet tall and has appeared in 39 games for the Sabres over the past three seasons, starting in 36 of them. His NHL record is 17-17-2 with a 3.29 GAA and .894 save percentage. The team has not yet determined whether Levi will start next season in Rochester or compete for NHL playing time alongside Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and newly signed free agent Alex Lyon.
Originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft, Levi was acquired by Buffalo in July 2021. He made his NHL debut with Buffalo in March 2023 after completing two college seasons at Northeastern University. Levi has also played internationally for Canada at both the IIHF World Junior Championship in 2021 and the Olympic Winter Games in 2022.
With this signing, all of Buffalo’s remaining restricted free agents are now under contract.
