Josh Doan scored twice to lead the Buffalo Sabres in a 9-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at KeyBank Center on Friday. The Sabres have now won three of their last four games, matching Colorado for the most goals by a team in a single NHL game this season.

Doan opened the scoring late in the first period, sparking a run of three Buffalo goals within just under three minutes. Buffalo then added three more goals in the second period, including two that came only eight seconds apart from Mattias Samuelsson and Ryan McLeod. The Sabres continued their offensive push with two additional goals in the third period.

Alex Tuch recorded four assists, equaling his career high. He was one of nine Sabres players to register multiple points during the game. Jason Zucker contributed a goal and two assists after returning from an eight-game absence due to illness. Other key performances included Tage Thompson, Ryan McLeod, Jack Quinn, Jacob Bryson, and Bowen Byram each recording both a goal and an assist; Rasmus Dahlin finished with two assists.

Thompson extended his goal-scoring streak to five games with his 11th goal of the season. Both Samuelsson and Dahlin increased their point streaks to four games.

Goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 21 saves for Buffalo, including a crucial stop against Chicago’s leading scorer Connor Bedard during a breakaway when protecting a 5-2 lead in the second period.

Buffalo’s homestand will conclude on Sunday with a game against Carolina. The team announced that “The first 10,000 fans will receive a commemorative Sabres butter dish, just in time for Thanksgiving.”

Coverage for Sunday’s game will begin at 12:30 p.m., with puck drop scheduled for 1 p.m.
