A visit to Lasertron, special guests hosted by Alex Tuch, and the annual Thanksgiving turkey drive were among the Buffalo Sabres’ community initiatives in November.
The team organized several activities to support different groups in Western New York. On November 3, families from the Courage of Carly Fund attended the annual Lasertron Night. Bowen Byram, Colten Ellis, and Mason Geertsen joined children undergoing cancer treatment for arcade games and laser tag. The event aimed to provide a relaxing experience for families supported through Courage of Carly.
Also on November 3, forwards Josh Doan and Jack Quinn participated in a bowling event with Best Buddies Western New York at Transit Lanes in Williamsville. The gathering brought together people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting Best Buddies’ mission in the area.
On November 12, the Sabres partnered with Tops Friendly Markets and Audacy for Turkeys for Tickets. Fans donated 1,725 turkeys at various drop-off locations to benefit FeedMore WNY and the Buffalo City Mission. Alumni Martin Biron and Patrick Kaleta assisted volunteers in greeting donors and handing out ticket vouchers.
Alex Tuch’s AT9 Foundation continued its outreach by hosting local organizations at KeyBank Center during ten home games this season. In November, suite nights welcomed groups such as the Courage of Carly Fund, SABAH, and the PUNT Foundation.
The Sabres also held their annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center on November 1. Players walked with survivors and patients battling cancer along a purple carpet before presenting them with signed jerseys. Fans received scarves and placards to honor loved ones affected by cancer during the event.
