The Buffalo Sabres secured a 3-0 victory over the Florida Panthers on Saturday at KeyBank Center, improving their season record to 2-3-0.
Josh Doan contributed two power-play goals, marking his first goals for the Sabres. Both scores came after Buffalo successfully killed a series of early penalties. Owen Power scored his first goal of the season, and Zach Benson added an assist, bringing his total to five assists in the past two games.
Goaltender Alex Lyon started for the fifth consecutive game and recorded a shutout by stopping all 32 shots he faced. This marks the highest number of saves in a shutout in Lyon’s career.
Defenseman Jacob Bryson left the game early in the first period with a head injury and is being evaluated for a concussion.
