The Buffalo Sabres will face the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Sunday as they seek to complete a sweep of their Pacific Division road trip, according to a March 22 announcement. The Sabres are coming off a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings, marking their fourth consecutive win and twelfth in thirteen games since returning from the Olympic break.

This strong performance has placed Buffalo on a franchise-record 13-game road point streak (12-0-1), which began on January 20. Only fifteen such streaks of fourteen games or more have occurred in National Hockey League history. The recent run has moved the Sabres closer to clinching a playoff berth, with their magic number now at fourteen and tying them for first place in the Eastern Conference standings with the Hurricanes.

Sunday’s game can be viewed on MSG within the Sabres broadcast market, with pregame coverage starting at 7:30 p.m. Fans outside the market can stream via Gotham Sports App or ESPN+, while radio coverage is available through WGR 550 and the Buffalo Sabres App.

Goaltender Alex Lyon is set to start for Buffalo and will attempt to tie an NHL record for most consecutive road wins by a goaltender if he secures another victory tonight. Lyon currently has ten straight road wins, matching him for second longest all-time behind Evgeni Nabokov and Devan Dubnyk.

Recent highlights include Sam Carrick scoring his fifth goal in eight games since joining Buffalo—the highest tally by any trade acquisition for their first eight games since Steve Heinze in 2001—and Zach Benson expected to play his two-hundredth NHL game after contributing both defensively and offensively in Saturday’s win. Tage Thompson has scored goals in back-to-back games, while defensively, Buffalo has allowed just three goals during its current four-game winning streak.

On the Ducks’ side, defenseman John Carlson was recently acquired ahead of the trade deadline from Washington Capitals and has averaged over twenty-three minutes per game through his first three appearances with Anaheim—all resulting in points earned (2-0-1). The Ducks’ leading scorers—Cutter Gauthier, Leo Carlsson, and Beckett Sennecke—are each under twenty-three years old but have propelled Anaheim into first place in their division despite missing captain Radko Gudas due to suspension.

This matchup marks only the second meeting between these teams this season; Buffalo won their previous contest on January 10 by a score of five to three.
