The Buffalo Bills traded the No. 28 overall pick to the New England Patriots during the first round of the NFL Draft on Apr. 23, marking their second trade back in this year’s draft.
The move allows Buffalo to gain additional draft capital while still retaining a first-round selection. The Bills received New England’s No. 31 overall pick, which is also in the first round, along with the Patriots’ fourth-round selection at No. 125.
Prior to this deal, Buffalo had already executed a pick swap with the Houston Texans that positioned them at No. 28 before making this latest trade with New England.
As a result of these transactions, New England acquired Buffalo’s original spot at No. 28 in exchange for two picks later in the draft.
Following these moves, it was reported that Buffalo ultimately traded out of the first round altogether according to an editor’s update included in their official announcement.
