Buffalo has strengthened its roster by signing wide receiver David White Jr. and tight end Matt Sokol, as announced ahead of the first training camp practice on Wednesday.
David White Jr., who was with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, did not play due to an ACL injury during OTAs in June. He was released by the Jaguars last month. White joined Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent from Western Carolina in 2024. During his college career, he recorded 54 receptions for 903 yards and 11 touchdowns. White hails from Jacksonville, Florida.
Matt Sokol spent the previous season on Pittsburgh’s practice squad and has participated in eight games from 2020 to 2023. Since entering the NFL in 2019, he has been part of five different teams: Chargers, Jaguars, Lions, Patriots, and Steelers. Sokol began his professional journey with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State and is originally from Rochester, Michigan.
In related moves, Buffalo released wide receiver Kelly Akharaiyi and punter Jake Camarda while activating defensive end Landon Jackson from PUP.
