The Buffalo Bills announced on May 8 that they have signed 12 undrafted free agents as rookie minicamp begins.

These signings are important as they give new players a chance to compete for roster spots and add depth to the team ahead of the upcoming season.

Among the new additions is Jackson Acker, a fullback from Wisconsin who played multiple positions and finished his college career with over 400 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Gabriel Benyard joins from Kennesaw State, where he was used in various roles including receiver, rusher, and return specialist, accumulating more than 1,700 receiving yards and scoring a total of 22 touchdowns during his collegiate career.

Other signees include outside linebacker Cade Denhoff from Clemson, cornerback Jordan Dunbar who played at Missouri State after stints at Rice and Kansas State, offensive lineman Bruno Fina from Duke—the son of former Bills player John Fina—and inside linebacker Theron Gaines from Tennessee Tech. In a pre-draft interview with NFL Draft Diamonds, Gaines said he is someone who always works hard and “I take pride in everything I put on the field.”

Defensive end Kody Huisman comes from Virginia Tech after starting his college career at North Dakota State. Wide receiver Ja’Mori Maclin played at Missouri, North Texas (where he had over 1,000 receiving yards in one season), and Kentucky. Running back Desmond Reid spent time at Western Carolina before transferring to Pittsburgh; he earned second-team AP All-American All-Purpose honors in 2024 after totaling more than 1,700 all-purpose yards.

Additional signings include wide receiver Max Tomczak (Youngstown State), cornerback Kani Walker (Arkansas), and offensive guard De’Metrius Weatherspoon (Syracuse). These players bring experience across various positions including special teams duties such as punt returns.

The addition of these undrafted free agents gives the Bills options for filling out their training camp roster while providing opportunities for young talent to prove themselves.
