Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced that tight end Dalton Kincaid and defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis will not play in the upcoming Week 11 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both players have been ruled out due to injuries, with Kincaid suffering from a hamstring issue and Mathis dealing with a shoulder injury.
Kincaid has made significant contributions to the team this season, ranking as the second-leading receiver with 448 yards and leading the Bills in touchdown receptions with four. Mathis has participated in three games and recorded three tackles.
Wide receiver Khalil Shakir has been limited in practice this week because of ankle and rib injuries. However, McDermott indicated optimism about his availability for Sunday’s game. “He’s heading in the right direction. Should be in a good spot for the game,” McDermott said. Shakir, who leads the team with 457 receiving yards, practiced wearing a red non-contact jersey on Wednesday and Thursday but is expected to participate fully on Friday.
Defensive back Cam Lewis also remains limited at practice due to a calf injury, while cornerback Taron Johnson will be limited as well on Friday. The coaching staff will assess their status after Friday’s session.
Other members of the roster are showing improvement. Cornerback Christian Benford, defensive end A.J. Epenesa, defensive tackle T.J. Sanders, linebacker Shaq Thompson, and wide receiver Joshua Palmer all participated fully in Thursday’s practice.
The final injury report for the team will be released after Friday’s practice.
