The Buffalo Bills have announced that four players will not be available for their Week 13 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Head coach Sean McDermott stated on WGR550 that left tackle Dion Dawkins (concussion), right tackle Spencer Brown (shoulder), linebacker Terrel Bernard (elbow), and wide receiver Curtis Samuel (elbow/knee) are all ruled out for Sunday’s road matchup.
Dion Dawkins did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday as he remains in concussion protocol. According to McDermott, although Dawkins was cleared by an independent neurologist to return during the previous game against the Texans, he began showing concussion-like symptoms the following day and re-entered the protocol.
Both Spencer Brown and Terrel Bernard left last week’s game against Houston with injuries. Curtis Samuel is set to miss his second consecutive game due to injury.
Wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) and tight end Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) will have limited participation in Friday’s practice. Palmer missed Thursday’s practice, while Kincaid moved from not practicing on Wednesday to being limited on Thursday. Both players are considered questionable for Sunday.
McDermott indicated that all other players are expected to be full participants at Friday’s practice.
Cornerback Maxwell Hairston, who was dealing with a concussion, progressed from limited participation on Wednesday to full participation on Thursday. McDermott said the rookie is “moving in a good direction” regarding his availability for Sunday.
Quarterback Josh Allen has been listed with a right elbow issue but practiced fully throughout the week. “He’ll be ready to play,” McDermott said of the quarterback.
The team plans to release its official Friday injury report later and encourages fans to download the Bills app for updates and news about the team.
