Bills head coach Sean McDermott has announced that defensive end Joey Bosa and linebacker Terrel Bernard will not play in Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals due to injuries. Both players missed all practices this week because of a hamstring/wrist injury for Bosa and an elbow injury for Bernard.

Wide receiver Joshua Palmer is listed as doubtful for the upcoming matchup with knee and ankle issues. Palmer did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday and is also expected to miss Friday’s session.

Defensive end A.J. Epenesa, who was absent from Thursday’s practice because of a foot issue but participated fully on Wednesday, is anticipated to be available for Sunday’s game. “He should be fine. Something that popped up over the off hours there,” McDermott said regarding Epenesa.

Three other players—left tackle Dion Dawkins (concussion), right tackle Spencer Brown (shoulder), and tight end Dalton Kincaid (hamstring/knee)—were limited participants during practices on both Wednesday and Thursday. McDermott provided an update on Dawkins: “He should be good to go barring anything popping up today.” Dawkins has cleared concussion protocol.

McDermott also noted that Brown will remain limited in Friday’s practice as his status continues to be evaluated.

Additionally, defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who has been on injured reserve since late October with a biceps injury, could return if the Bills qualify for the playoffs. McDermott stated, “There’s a chance. it would be more after the regular season, if we can get that far,” he said. “So that’s kind of where his window would open up.”
