The Buffalo Bills will wear a commemorative patch on their uniforms during the 2025 season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, marking the Farewell Season of Highmark Stadium. The stadium has served as the team’s home since 1973 and will be replaced by a new facility in 2026. The patch, which features the outline of Highmark Stadium and farewell lettering, is intended to honor five decades of football at the venue.

The team will also wear this Farewell Season patch for their final regular season game against the New York Jets in Week 18. Jerseys with the commemorative patch will be available for purchase at the Bills Store.

“The design highlights the outline of Highmark Stadium and bold farewell lettering, symbolizing the countless memories built within its walls, from Jim Kelly’s K-Gun offense to Josh Allen leading today’s contender. Bills Mafia has long made Highmark one of the NFL’s most intimidating venues, and this season marks the final chapter before the team transitions to its new state-of-the-art facility in 2026.”

Sunday’s game against Baltimore is expected to draw significant attention as two AFC teams compete in what could be a physical contest. The commemorative patch aims to remind both players and fans that each home game this year carries added significance as it represents not only an end but also a celebration of past achievements.

“For players, coaches, and fans alike, the patch isn’t just a uniform detail — it’s a nod to five decades of unforgettable football before the team moves to new Highmark Stadium across the street.”

Quarterback Josh Allen will have another distinguishing feature on his jersey this season: a gold NFL shield sewn onto his collar. This addition recognizes Allen’s achievement as MVP in 2024 and will be worn throughout all regular season and playoff games.

“The gold shield patch is a new addition to NFL uniforms this season and will be worn by five players who were recipients of Associated Press awards from 2024.”

Other players wearing similar gold shields include Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia Eagles), Pat Surtain II (Denver Broncos), Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders), and Jared Verse (Los Angeles Rams).
