The Buffalo Bills have launched a new video series, “Games to Remember,” highlighting memorable moments from the team’s history at Highmark Stadium. The series is being released as the Bills play their final season in the stadium they have called home for 53 years.
“Games to Remember” features former players, including Hall of Famers Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas and Wall of Famer Steve Tasker, reflecting on significant games. The first episode, focusing on “The Comeback Game,” was released on November 26. New episodes will be available weekly on Buffalobills.com and the team’s YouTube channel.
Andre Reed discussed his perspective on the 1993 Wild Card game against the Houston Oilers, known for the Bills’ comeback from a 32-point deficit. “The spark plug for our offense in that game was Kenny Davis,” said Reed. “Thurman exited the game at halftime with a hip pointer, and our offense was searching for an answer. Kenny got that comeback started.”
Steve Tasker provided insight into special teams strategy during Episode 3 – “A Special Day.” He recalled: “We felt we had a distinct advantage of special teams in that matchup with the Oilers. Special teams coordinator Bruce DeHaven had a unique look for us to throw at the Houston punt team, and we got just what we wanted. Leonard (Smith) got home, and we were in business.”
Eric Wood spoke about a critical decision made during overtime in Episode 5 – “The Snow Game.” Wood explained: “Coach McDermott and I had a spirited conversation about that decision. ‘I asked him, ‘Why are we punting? We have to win this game.’ He said, ‘I know. This gives us the best chance to win.’ In the end he was right.”
Recent seasons under coach Sean McDermott are also included in the series, with Tre’Davious White sharing his experiences.
