The Buffalo Bills began their training camp at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, NY, on Wednesday. Fans filled the stands as players hit the field to start preparing for the upcoming season.
Quarterback Josh Allen expressed his excitement for the team’s 11 practices in Rochester. “Being away and coming here, I mean every moment you’re awake you’re around your teammates,” he said. Head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane also shared their thoughts on the season’s goals, with McDermott stating, “We have nothing to hide, we are who we are.”
Defensive end Joey Bosa returned to practice after recovering from a calf injury that kept him out of OTAs. “The body is perfectly fine,” Bosa assured reporters.
On the first day of practice, both offense and defense made significant plays. Allen managed a turnover-free day while linebacker Baylon Spector showcased his skills with a notable pass breakup.
Running back James Cook participated despite seeking a new deal. “I couldn’t be more pleased with James and him being here on time and ready to go,” McDermott said.
Injury updates included TE Dawson Knox (hamstring), RT Spencer Brown (back), WR Laviska Shenault (lower leg strain), and OL Sedrick Van Pran-Granger (calf) not participating in practice.
