Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady has finalized the team’s assistant coaching staff for the 2026 season, naming a total of 20 assistants as of February 13. The staff includes both returning coaches with new roles and several new hires.

Among those promoted within the organization is Rob Boras, who will serve as run game coordinator and tight ends coach. Boras joined the Bills in 2017 and has overseen notable performances from players such as Dawson Knox, Dalton Kincaid, and Jackson Hawes.

Joe Danna moves into the role of secondary coach after joining Buffalo in 2023 as safeties coach. Under his guidance, the defense recorded strong interception numbers over multiple seasons and led the league in pass defense in 2025.

D.J. Mangas becomes assistant wide receivers coach after previously serving as an offensive assistant and quality control coach. In 2025, he contributed to an offense that ranked among the league’s best in points per game, total yards, and red zone efficiency.

Jason Rebrovich has been promoted to senior defensive assistant following his work with the defensive line last season. He previously held several positions with Buffalo between 2013-16.

Kyle Shurmur advances to assistant quarterbacks coach after working on both sides of the ball since joining Buffalo in 2022. During his tenure, quarterback Josh Allen led the NFL in offensive touchdowns.

Alvin Vaughn is now a defensive assistant after serving as fellowship coach since 2023 and helping guide a top-performing pass defense.

Returning coaches retaining their previous titles include Austin Gund (assistant offensive line), Mark Lubick (pass game specialist/game management), Kelly Skipper (running backs), Turner West (assistant special teams), and Milli Wilson (offensive assistant/fellowship coach).

Head coach Joe Brady also added nine new assistants ahead of this season:

John Fox joins as senior assistant coach, bringing head coaching experience from stints with Carolina, Denver, Chicago, and recent roles with Indianapolis and Detroit.

Terrance Jamison takes over as defensive line coach after three years at Illinois and prior collegiate coaching stops at Purdue, Air Force, Texas Tech, Florida Atlantic, Cal, and Wisconsin.

John Egorugwu returns to Buffalo as inside linebackers coach following previous time with the team from 2017-20 and most recently coaching inside linebackers for the New York Giants.

Bobby April III comes aboard as outside linebackers coach after three years coordinating Stanford’s defense. He previously coached linebackers for Wisconsin, Buffalo (2015-16), New York Jets (2014), Eagles (2011-12), among others.

Jay Valai is named cornerbacks coach following recent roles at Oklahoma—including co-defensive coordinator—and previous stops at Georgia, Rutgers, Texas, Alabama, Kansas City Chiefs (NFL) among others.

Craig Robertson becomes defensive quality control coach after retiring from an NFL playing career that included time with Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints.

Pat Meyer is hired out of Pittsburgh to lead Buffalo’s offensive line; he brings experience from previous stints with Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Chargers—and earlier service on Buffalo’s staff—as well as Chicago Bears.

Bo Hardegree joins from Tennessee Titans as quarterbacks coach; he has also worked for Las Vegas Raiders—serving briefly as interim offensive coordinator—and spent time coaching for Broncos, Bears, Dolphins, Jets Patriots plus college programs Duke and LSU.

Drew Terrell arrives from Arizona Cardinals where he was offensive pass game coordinator/wide receivers coach; he previously worked for Washington Commanders’ wide receivers unit and began his NFL career in Carolina before collegiate posts at Virginia Tech and Michigan.
