The Buffalo Bills announced several major roster changes on March 10 and March 11 as the National Football League’s free agency period began. The team confirmed the acquisition of wide receiver DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears, a trade that also brings Chicago’s 2026 fifth round draft pick to Buffalo in exchange for the Bills’ 2026 second round pick.
These moves are significant as they aim to strengthen the team’s lineup ahead of the upcoming season. Adding Moore is expected to provide quarterback Josh Allen with an experienced target, while other transactions address both offensive and defensive needs.
In another trade, the Bills sent cornerback Taron Johnson and a 2026 seventh round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in 2026. This deal was finalized with the start of the new league year.
The team also re-signed center Connor McGovern to a four-year contract. McGovern, who joined Buffalo in 2023, has started all 49 games he played for the team through the end of last season and participated in every playoff matchup during his tenure. He has logged over three thousand snaps on offense since joining Buffalo.
Additionally, tight end Dawson Knox agreed to terms on a new contract that will keep him with Buffalo through 2028. Knox has recorded 229 catches for nearly 2,700 yards and scored 27 touchdowns over seven seasons with the team. In the previous season, he ranked third among Bills players in receiving yards and tied for second in touchdowns. Knox is part of a tight end group that helped Buffalo rank second among all teams in reception yards and touchdowns by tight ends last year.
These roster decisions reflect ongoing efforts by management to build a competitive squad for future seasons.
