The Buffalo Bills are preparing for their Week 10 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Head coach Sean McDermott announced that defensive end A.J. Epenesa, who is dealing with a concussion, and linebacker Shaq Thompson, who has a hamstring injury, will not play in Sunday’s game.

McDermott also listed several players as questionable: defensive tackle DaQuan Jones (calf), wide receiver Joshua Palmer (knee/ankle), cornerback Taron Johnson (groin), and cornerback Christian Benford (groin).

Buffalo’s offense is currently among the league leaders in several categories. The team leads the NFL in total yards per game with an average of 385.5, rushing yards per game at 161.5, and time of possession at 33 minutes and 25 seconds per game. They rank third in points per game with an average of 29.38, fifth in third down conversion rate at 45.7%, and ninth in red zone efficiency at 67.7%.

Running back James Cook has recorded five games with at least 100 rushing yards this season—the most in the NFL—and averages a league-best 108.4 rushing yards per game. Quarterback Josh Allen has scored 20 total touchdowns, tying him for third-most in the league, and his average of 8.2 yards per pass attempt ranks fifth.

Defensively, the Bills have allowed only seven passing touchdowns—the fewest in the league—and give up an average of just under 170 passing yards per game, which is second-best overall. They are tied for eighth with 25 sacks and rank ninth by allowing only 20.9 points per game.

Left tackle Dion Dawkins was named the NFL Players Association’s Community MVP for Week 10 due to his work with local students through his “Shnow Day” field day program as part of Dion’s Dreamers initiative. “Dion Dawkins has been named the NFLPA’s Community MVP for Week 10 because of his commitment to the community,” according to a statement from the team.

Rookie defensive tackle Deone Walker has made an impact this season with seven tackles for loss over eight games along with a sack, fumble recovery, and eighteen tackles overall. Dane Brugler from The Athletic included Walker on his midseason All-Rookie Team.

Defensive end Michael Hoecht will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn Achilles during last week’s game against Kansas City. McDermott commented on Hoecht’s leadership following news of his injury: “What is also revealed in that clip is the incredible teammate Hoecht is and how much he loves the Buffalo Bills.”

Fullback Reggie Gilliam and tight end Jackson Hawes were highlighted by The Athletic’s Football Show as key contributors to Buffalo’s current season alongside their strong running attack.

General Manager Brandon Beane spoke recently about roster moves ahead of the trade deadline while players shared thoughts on preparations for facing Miami this week.
