Fans attending the Buffalo Bills game against the New Orleans Saints on September 28 at Highmark Stadium can expect several special activities and offerings.
The event will highlight the NFL’s Crucial Catch initiative, which promotes cancer awareness. Fans will receive “I Fight For” placards upon entry, distributed by 30 American Cancer Society volunteers stationed at each gate. Attendees are encouraged to hold up these placards during a moment in the second quarter. According to the team, “There will be a moment in the 2nd quarter where fans will be encouraged to hold up the placards throughout the stadium!”
Jay Dref, an American tenor and Juilliard School graduate known for his performances of both classic and modern songs, will sing the national anthem before kickoff. The Bills shared details about Dref’s background: “American tenor Jay Dref inspires audiences with his passionate, transcendent voice. A graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School, his timeless interpretations of both classic standards and modern material has quickly made him one of the premier vocalists of his generation. Reviewers have called him ‘Groban-like’. Jay is featured on classical crossover and adult contemporary playlists on Spotify where he has over 200,000 listeners in 157 different countries.”
During pregame ceremonies, Paulette Gurbacki—who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer—will be recognized. Introduction banners will also feature survivors from both the American Cancer Society and Kaleida Health.
Halftime entertainment will include a performance by the University at Buffalo Marching Band, also known as Thunder of the East. The group consists of 180 members representing Western New York.
A $100,000 guaranteed jackpot is being offered through the Bills Foundation’s 50/50 raffle.
Mitch Morse has been named Legend of the Game for this matchup.
Specialty food items are available at various locations within Highmark Stadium. The Miller Lite Brew Pub brings back “The Battle Boat,” a dish featuring waffle fries with toppings inspired by both Buffalo and New Orleans cuisine. Other options include MVP grilled flank steak sandwiches, shrimp po’boys at select club stands, jerk chicken sandwiches called “DawkSide,” and pulled pork sandwiches named “Pork Knox.”
Tickets for this game remain available through official channels.
