The Buffalo Bills have made several roster changes ahead of their Week 10 preparations. Following the placement of defensive end Michael Hoecht on injured reserve due to an Achilles injury, the team has filled the open roster spot by promoting defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis from the practice squad to the active roster.
Mathis, who was a second-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, joined the Bills’ practice squad on September 10. He has been elevated twice this season, including during Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs where he recorded two tackles.
In addition to Mathis’s promotion, Buffalo signed defensive end Kingsley Jonathan and defensive back Te’Cory Couch to their practice squad. The team also released linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo from the practice squad.
