The Buffalo Bandits announced on Apr. 29 that their recent season ended with a loss to the Georgia Swarm, but highlighted the team’s achievements over the past years and expressed optimism for future success.
The announcement comes after a difficult playoff defeat, which followed a strong run where the team overcame a mid-season record of 4-6 by winning seven consecutive games to finish at 11-7. The message emphasized that despite the disappointment, “the accomplishments of this group and organization will be cherished and remembered for a long time.”
The Bandits have reached the playoffs in 27 seasons, appeared in 14 finals, and secured seven championships overall. The statement called these results “outstanding” and described the team as “a definite dynasty.” It also noted that recent championship runs were made possible by contributions from many players.
Reflecting on Saturday’s game, it was mentioned that entering the dressing room postgame allowed for personal thanks to each player: “Thank you.” According to the announcement, every player responded with gratitude despite their disappointment.
Looking forward, there is an expectation that new talent will join through draft opportunities: “The next generation of Bandits awaits in the wings, and there is plenty of draft capital to enhance the crop.” The statement concluded by thanking supporters: “Your support continues to amaze me, both at home and on the road. You are the most important part of our success.”
As preparations begin for next season, officials said they expect Buffalo Bandits to remain competitive.
