Assemblyman David DiPietro has announced the successful passage of Assembly Bill A.6969B, which will name a bridge in honor of Stephen C. Ebling. The bridge, located over the New York State Thruway on Eden-Evans Center Road in Evans, will be designated as the “Maintenance Supervisor Stephen C. Ebling Memorial Bridge.”

Ebling, who served as a Maintenance Supervisor for the New York State Thruway Authority, died while working in the Silver Creek Section of the Buffalo Maintenance Division last November. DiPietro emphasized Ebling’s dedication to public service and expressed that naming the bridge after him is a way to preserve his legacy.

“Stephen Ebling was a selfless public servant,” DiPietro stated. “Naming this bridge in his honor ensures his legacy of service will be remembered. My thoughts remain with his family, friends and colleagues.”

The memorial designation acknowledges Ebling’s contributions to public safety and his impact on both the Town of Eden and Erie County. DiPietro also thanked fellow members of the New York State Assembly for their support in passing this bill.
