The Buffalo Bills have made a change to their roster, signing safety Tre Herndon and releasing tight end Matt Sokol. The team announced the move on Tuesday morning.
Herndon, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent from Vanderbilt in 2018, has played for several teams during his career. He most recently spent time with the New Orleans Saints in 2024 after playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2018 to 2023. Over seven seasons, Herndon has appeared in 84 games and started 34 times. His career statistics include three interceptions, 32 passes defensed, and 243 total tackles. He has also had stints with the New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts.
Herndon is originally from Detroit, Michigan.
To make room for Herndon’s addition to the defensive backs unit, Buffalo released tight end Matt Sokol.
