The Buffalo Bills announced on May 11 that they have signed outside linebacker Mike Danna to a one-year contract, adding depth to their linebackers group. In a corresponding move, the team released cornerback MJ Devonshire.
Danna joins the Bills after spending six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. Last season, he started 14 games and recorded 25 total tackles, one sack, one interception, four quarterback hits, and three tackles for loss.
Over his six-year career with Kansas City, Danna played in 87 games and made 49 starts. He accumulated 194 total tackles, 21.5 sacks, 25 tackles for loss, 51 quarterback hits, six forced fumbles and one interception. His most productive season came in 2023 when he posted career-highs with 50 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 13 quarterback hits.
Danna was originally selected by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the NFL Draft in 2020. He will wear No. 51 for Buffalo this upcoming season.
The addition of Danna is expected to strengthen Buffalo’s defensive lineup as they prepare for the new season.
