Several Buffalo Bills players missed the team’s fifth training camp practice, which took place Monday and marked the first session with full pads. Head coach Sean McDermott provided an update on the injured players before practice.
According to McDermott, right tackle Spencer Brown, offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, wide receivers Tyrell Shavers, Curtis Samuel, Elijah Moore, and Kaden Prather, linebackers Terrel Bernard and Dorian Williams, and tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox did not participate in practice.
“It’s not ideal, especially with the names that are on there,” McDermott said. “So, you’re trying to move the team forward and develop, but it also allows an opportunity for us to see somebody step in and do the job. So, that’s just the nature of the of the of having the injuries that we do.”
Shavers suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s practice but avoided a significant setback. “Tyrell with his ankle,” McDermott said of his injury. “Doesn’t seem to be serious so it looks like we’re in decent shape.”
Tight end Dalton Kincaid is managing a leg issue after Sunday’s session. “Dalton with knee soreness after yesterday’s practice,” McDermott shared.
McDermott also mentioned that kicker Tyler Bass was dealing with some discomfort: “T-Bass has a little bit of a pelvis area soreness, so we are dealing with that,” McDermott said. “He may or may not be out there.” Following practice, it was confirmed that Bass did not participate.
