National sports analysts have released their predictions for the Buffalo Bills’ 2025 NFL season as the team prepares to open against the Baltimore Ravens, a repeat of last year’s divisional round matchup. The consensus among several national outlets is that the Bills are positioned for another strong year, with some predicting a Super Bowl victory.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated expects the Bills to secure the No. 1 seed and win Super Bowl LX. “Give me the Bills to win the whole thing. Again, they’ve been knocking on the door forever. When I was at their camp, things looked like they’ve really slowed down for Josh Allen, even more than before. So in Santa Clara, the Bills can exorcise the demons of the ’90s and the more recent past, and close venerable Highmark Stadium in style with Western New York’s first major-league sports championship,” Breer said.
Tyler Sullivan from CBS Sports also projects success for Buffalo, stating that no other team is favored as heavily to win its division as Buffalo is to win the AFC East. “No team is a bigger favorite to win their respective division than Buffalo, and rightfully so. They are in a Super Bowl window, while the rest of the division is either in a rebuild or on the verge of one. Josh Allen and Co. should win this by a mile,” Sullivan said.
Nate Davis of USA Today predicts a 13-4 record for Buffalo, citing home-field advantage early in the season as a key factor for momentum. “Barring an injury to reigning league MVP Josh Allen, a sixth consecutive division title seems all but inevitable. Following their Sunday night opener against Baltimore, the Bills play six consecutive non-playoff teams from 2024,” Davis noted.
Henry McKenna from Fox Sports forecasts a 12-5 record and points to Buffalo’s final regular-season game against the New York Jets as significant for playoff positioning. “The Bills will probably be jockeying for playoff seeding at this point, and because they lost to the Ravens who will be a contender for the AFC’s No. 1 seed they’ll need every win they can get. So Buffalo can steamroll the Jets to finish the season and make their way into the postseason on a high note,” McKenna said.
Matt Johnson of Yahoo Sports sees Buffalo finishing with a 14-4 record and earning a first-round bye in playoffs. “The Bills will have the No. 1 seed to play for in the regular-season finale. Meanwhile, the Jets will be in competition for a top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. In front of a raucous home crowd, Allen and the Bills coast to a victory that clinches the AFC’s No. 1 seed and a first-round bye,” Johnson predicted.
Dalton Wasserman at Pro Football Focus highlighted offseason moves focused on defense under general manager Brandon Beane and believes success depends on defensive improvement: “As long as Josh Allen is healthy, the Bills will remain favorites to win the AFC East. Their championship hopes, however, hinge on whether the defense – a unit that has consistently underwhelmed in the postseason – can take a meaningful step forward.”
NFL.com’s Jeffri Chadiha echoed other optimistic outlooks: “There’s basically never been a better time for the Bills to earn the top seed in the AFC and potentially host a conference championship game. And if they can do that, they should win the whole damn thing.”
ESPN analyst Seth Walder used forecast simulations projecting over ten wins for Buffalo with an 81 percent chance of making playoffs and nearly two-thirds odds of winning their division: “Bills win Super Bowl LX. Bills Mafia, rejoice. Buffalo really did it. After coming up short four times in a row in the early 1990s and then knocking on the door in recent years with Josh Allen, the Bills finally burst through with a statement win.”
These predictions reflect widespread confidence among national analysts regarding both regular season performance and postseason potential for Buffalo entering its bid for another AFC East title.
